Short answer: To get the Walmart Pro Seller badge, you need (among other criteria) an on-time delivery rate of at least 95%, a cancellation rate of 1.5% or lower, a 95%+ seller response rate, at least 50% of your catalog with free three-day or faster shipping, content quality and price competitiveness scores of 75%+, more than 100 orders in the last 90 days, at least 90 active days and a seller rating of 4.0 or higher. Walmart refreshes Pro Seller status on the 5th and 20th of each month.
The Pro Seller program rewards Walmart Marketplace sellers who deliver a consistently good customer experience. Walmart says sellers saw an average of more than 20% lift in GMV after becoming Pro Sellers, and that Pro Sellers have 1.7x the conversion of the average Marketplace seller (Walmart data, 2025).
All thresholds below come from Walmart's own Marketplace Learn guide. Walmart updates the program, so always check your current numbers in Seller Center.
What is the Walmart Pro Seller badge?
The Pro Seller badge is a trust label shown to shoppers on your listings. It signals that you ship on time, rarely cancel, reply to customers and keep strong listings. The program now has three tiers, each with its own benefits:
- Rising Seller: the entry tier.
- Advanced Seller: the middle tier.
- Pro Seller: the top tier, which earns the badge.

How to qualify: a practical plan
Most sellers miss Pro Seller on two or three metrics, not all of them. Work through these in order.
1. Fix shipping speed first
The shipping speed score needs 50% of your catalog offering free three-day or faster delivery. The simplest route is Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), which handles fast shipping for you. If you use WFS, keep an eye on lost and damaged units; our guide to WFS reimbursements shows how to claim them.
2. Protect on-time delivery and cancellations
- Set realistic handling times in Seller Center, not the fastest possible ones.
- Keep inventory counts accurate so you never sell stock you do not have; that is one of the most common causes of seller cancellations.
- Use carriers and services that reliably meet the Expected Delivery Date.
3. Reply to every customer within 48 hours
The response rate counts inquiries answered within 48 hours over the last 30 days. Assign someone to check messages daily, including weekends, and use templates for common questions.
4. Raise your content quality score
Fill every required and recommended attribute, use high-quality images, write keyword-rich titles and descriptions, and add rich media where possible. Walmart scores the average across your whole published catalog, so fix weak listings rather than only your best sellers.
5. Stay price competitive
Walmart compares your prices with other retailers. If an item is consistently uncompetitive, consider repricing it, bundling it, or removing it from the catalog so it does not drag down the score.
6. Build order volume and ratings
You need more than 100 completed orders in a rolling 90 days and a seller rating of at least 4.0. Walmart Connect ads can help new listings get early sales, and a good post-purchase experience protects your rating.
How you can lose the badge
Walmart says sellers can lose Pro Seller status by:
- Falling below the criteria for two consecutive refresh cycles.
- Receiving policy violation warnings, which can make you ineligible.
- Walmart's own discretion based on performance or ratings.
Check your metrics weekly, not only when the badge disappears.
